What do you do when you are impressed by an organization that provides greatly to the community…you donate to that organization for Give Local York and that is just what the owner of Oletowne Jewelers did. Oletowne Jewelers gave a generous donation of $5,000 to the Jewish Community Center (JCC) in York.
Why the JCC for Give Local York?
Jamie Bovender, the owner of Oletowne Jewelers, decided to give to the JCC because the organization gives so much to our community. He knew first-hand that the Center provides swimming lessons because he took his own children there and was pleased with the outcome, but he really loves that the JCC provides financial assistance to families who cannot afford the lessons for their children. Bovender’s father is a current member of the JCC and many of Oletowne Jewelers’ clients are, as well. As a matter of fact, there are over 10,000 members to date.
The JCC doesn’t just offer swimming lessons, there are many wellness programs to choose from, as well as educational programs, and daycare for children. Anyone with children knows how expensive childcare can be and how difficult good childcare can be to find. The Center offers four star childcare and for those who need it, financial assistance is available. Summer camps are also provided.
Oletowne Jewelers is dedicated to serving the community and feels privileged to be able to give back. It is not hard to see why Bovender choose the JCC to donate to. So many in our community have taken advantage of the services the Center provides and the funds will go to good use. For more information on the JCC visit their website.
